Mental Health
Mental illness is not a derogatory condition. It is neither untouchable nor a taboo. It is a disease process like any other. Some may not know they have an illness and carry on their life without any treatment. Some may need long term treatment just like another who has diabetes. It can be even as deadly as a heart attack that one could take their own life, with no one knowing they have been suffering.
A visit to us does not mean you would be labelled, commenced on medications or sent to a therapist. Sometimes you may not have any issue at all and all that is needed is for some one to clear the air. Some times we may be able to help stop your silent cry of many months or years.
As professionals, any personal information you share with us is your privileged confidential information and it wont be shared with any one else – your spouse, former spouse, your parent, children, siblings or colleagues – even if they are a patient of our practice. On the same token we may not share any information about any one else with you too, to honour their privacy. (Please save us the heartache of saying “no” to you by refraining from asking information about anyone else)
