How to prepare for a Skin cancer check?

Surprisingly . . you do need to prepare for a skin cancer check

  • Fake tans – You might want to wait for your fake tan to get washed away. Fake tans may alter the appearance of certain moles. This might lead us to miss some moles or recommend/perform procedures which could have been avoided
  • Makeup – Please remove your makeup the night before. Wash your face again on the day of the skin check and do not wear any makeup coming for skin check. Thick makeup may mask skin conditions.
  • Nail polish – Please remove nail polish prior to your skin check. Certain cancers can leave a mark on the nail. By wearing nail polish, we may not be able to pick up those cancers
